Brief Intervention Counsellors
Alcohol Drug Association New Zealand (ADANZ) provides the national 0800 Alcohol Drug Helpline that offers information, referral and interventions to those concerned about their own or someone else’s alcohol and/or other drug use. The Helpline operates from 10 am to 10 pm, 7 days.
Brief Intervention Counsellors – Casual Shifts are required to staff the Alcohol Drug Helpline:
- to provide a service that has an impact on alcohol and other drug issues for the individual, family and community.
- who wants to be part of a trained, motivated and professionally supervised team.
- who has the flexibility to do shift work - weekday availability essential.
- who preferably has some experience providing structured support in AOD, health, counselling or social service settings.
The Helpline provides on-going training, regular supervision and a professional development pathway. Hours to be negotiated on an individual basis.
The national Helpline centre is located in Christchurch.
