We receive regular requests for advice from employers and employees about medicinal cannabis and how it relates to workplace safety and workers' rights.
In response, we've partnered with Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ), Dentons and Māori and Pasifika Trades Training to develop Medicinal cannabis: A guide for employers and employees.
The guide includes:
- an overview of medicinal cannabis and why it’s prescribed
- employers’ and employees’ rights and responsibilities
- suggestions of practical changes to workplace policies and procedures
The guide was developed by NZ Drug Foundation in collaboration with CHASNZ, Dentons and Māori and Pasifika Trades Training, with expert input from Rothbury Insurance, and Dr Graham Gulbransen, Fellow of The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.
